GreenSpace Labs is contributing its Crispr Cas 9 and Gene Editing technologies to the company to embed a unique molecular marker for seed-to-sale traceability and shall perform the genetic mapping services, genetic editing for seeds/clones and database management. Using the latest in gene editing technologies will create a seed repository for GreenSpace Biosciences with cannabis strains that are stable and reproducible for better harvest outcomes for cultivators. The markers will be the genetic barcode to track the seeds and the cloned plants for future generations which will allow us to create a digital ledger for block chain and crypto offerings in 2019. This database will also serve as a building block for a possible hemp and cannabis commodity exchange in the future.
Like the Human Genome project that began in 1998, being able to discern and understand the entire cannabis genome sequence will allow the stabilization of cannabis strains for human clinical trials. Creating the database for the seed’s genomic profiles will bring a licensing opportunity for specific strains worldwide.
In addition, access to the seed library will provide an opportunity for GreenSpace to grow these seeds in a to-be-built lab allowing GreenSpace to deploy the latest in next generation sequencing technologies to explore the entire cannabis genome.
